Al Habtoor Group Chairman Holds Talks with Marriott International Delegation Led by President & CEO Arne Sorenson

03/10/2016

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman, Al Habtoor Group welcomed a delegation from Marriott International at his office on Monday 3 October 2016. The delegation was led by Arne Sorenson, President and CEO, Marriott International. The delegation included Alex Kyriakidis, President and Managing Director, Marriott International Middle East & Africa and several other of the Group’s leadership team from around the world.

They delegation is in Dubai for a courtesy visit and for a tour of Al Habtoor City – a new landmark in Dubai which incorporates three of the Group’s brands (The St. Regis Dubai; W Dubai – Al Habtoor City; The Westin Dubai, Al Habtoor City). Marriott International recently acquired Starwood Hotels and Resorts making it the world’s largest hotel company.

Khalaf Al Habtoor said, “You will not find a complex like Al Habtoor City anywhere else in the world. It is not only a new landmark in Dubai, it is a destination like no other complete with three luxury hotels, three residential towers on the upcoming Dubai Water Canal, a boulevard, multiple restaurants, a tennis academy and a permanent purpose-built theatre which will be the backbone of the city.”

They discussed ways that Al Habtoor Group and Marriott International can build on their already successful partnership, and discussed upcoming projects including the new St. Regis Dubai Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club in DubaiLand, which is scheduled to open later this year.

Al Habtoor said, “We are building new lifestyle destinations in Dubai. Al Habtoor City is an urban development while the Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club is an equestrian haven with everything a horse lover could want under one roof.”

Other hotels in the Al Habtoor Group portfolio under the Marriott International brand include The Habtoor Grand Resort, Autograph Collection in Dubai and The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest which opened earlier this year.

“Together we are dedicated to providing world-class luxury and hospitality,” Al Habtoor said.
